The switch, step by step
- Check who holds your license
If you bought from Oracle NetSuite directly, the license stays with Oracle. If you bought through a Solution Provider (which “consults, sells and implements”), the reseller relationship may move at renewal.
- Commission a health check
A fixed-fee review of scripts, workflows, saved searches, integrations and role permissions. It produces a remediation backlog you can price.
- Get the handover package
Admin credentials, script source, integration documentation, open tickets and SOW history from the outgoing partner.
- Give notice per your services contract
Services agreements (not the Oracle license) usually carry the notice period.
- Plan the renewal
Switching often coincides with renewal. Negotiate a 3-5% renewal cap (BrokenRubik) while you are re-scoping.
